What we collect, why we collect it, and who else sees it.

ABADÁ-Capoeira Orange County is a capoeira school in Fountain Valley, California. This page explains what happens to the information you give us through this website. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
What we collect
Only what you type into one of our forms. We do not ask visitors to create accounts.
Booking a free trial class
Your name, phone number, email address, which classes you're interested in, the session you picked, and anything you write in the comments box.
Contacting us
Your name, phone number, email address, and your message.
Liability waiver
This form is normally completed in person at the academy before your first class. It collects the participant's details, whether the participant is under 18, an emergency contact's name, phone number and relationship, and a drawn signature. If the participant is a minor, it also collects a parent or guardian's name, email address and signature.
Why we collect it
To reply to you, to reserve your place in a class, and — in the case of the waiver — to have emergency contact details on hand and a record that you agreed to the terms of participation. That's all. We don't use it for advertising and we don't build profiles.
Who else sees it
We don't share your information with anyone for their own purposes. It does pass through two companies that provide the technology we use:
Form submissions are delivered to us by Google Apps Script and arrive as email in a Gmail account. Records are kept in Google Sheets. Google processes this data on our behalf under their own privacy policy.
Cloudflare
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real visitors apart from automated bots submitting our forms. It runs a background check in your browser when you submit a form, and nothing is displayed to you. Cloudflare's handling of that data is described in the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Turnstile is used instead of a traditional CAPTCHA specifically because it does not make you solve image puzzles and does not track you across other websites.
Text message reminders
When you book a free trial class, you can choose to receive a text-message reminder by checking the SMS consent box on the booking form. This is entirely optional — your booking works the same whether or not you opt in.
If you opt in, we send you about one message per booking: a single reminder roughly 24 hours before your class. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for help.
We do not share your mobile number or your SMS consent with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Your number is used only to send the class reminder you asked for. Messages are delivered by our SMS provider, Twilio, solely on our behalf.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and roughly where visitors come from, so we know what's useful and what isn't. This is aggregate traffic data, not something we tie to you personally. Most browsers offer settings to limit this, and Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on.
Children
We teach children, so some of the information we hold is about minors. A parent or guardian always provides it — children do not submit forms to us directly, and the waiver requires a guardian's signature for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information without a guardian's involvement, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
Class inquiries are kept while we're in touch with you and for our own records afterwards. Signed waivers are kept for as long as you train with us and for a period afterwards, since they're the record that you agreed to participate. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. There's no form for this and no account to log into — just email or call.
